  • A/C

When auto air conditioning systems break down, refrigerant leaks. Not only is refrigerant harmful to the environment, it's also harmful to your car. Leaking refrigerant can damage your vehicle's evaporator and compressor. Getting a car air conditioner service at the first sign of trouble will save you both money and time. Come to Rapid Transit Complete Auto Care for an AC service repair before any damage spreads.

  • Radiator

When you drive, the parts within your engine are creating some serious friction – and that friction generates heat. Engines run efficiently when warmed up, and the temperature is maintained by many engine cooling parts; the radiator, cooling fans, water pump, thermostat, coolant, pressure cap, overflow tank reservoir and other misc. parts. In order to stabilize the engine heat, the water pump sends coolant into the engine block to absorb the engine heat. The engine heat is then run past a thermostat, which maintains the engine coolant temperature. The coolant is then sent to the radiator to release the engine heat. Radiator cooling fans keep the radiator cool with airflow. The coolant is then sent back to the engine block to repeat the cooling cycle. The cooling system and radiator work together to keep the engine at a safe temperature.

  • Transmission

Getting a transmission fluid change and transmission flush is important maintenance for your vehicle's health – that's why vehicle manufacturers recommend regularly scheduled transmission service. If you keep up with your transmission maintenance, your car can run newer, stronger longer. We also offer truck transmission services, which is needed for trucks that tow under heavy conditions. Rapid Transit's expert auto technicians can take care of all your vehicle transmission needs and keep your car functioning at peak performance. When you need a transmission service – or anything else – bring your car, truck or SUV in.

  • Brakes

Your foot meets the accelerator pedal and your car takes off – but what happens when you hit the brakes? If you're not confident in your vehicle's ability to brake firm and straight, then it's time for a brake service. With time, all car brakes need attention, and there's no attention more expert than a Rapid Transit Complete Auto Care technician's attention. At a Rapid Transit Complete Auto Care store, we'll diagnose your vehicle's brake problems and offer brake repair solutions that fit your budget. We're open nights and weekends, so you can also make an appointment that fits your schedule. Where the road meets the rubber, Rapid Transit is there.

  • Suspension and Steering

When a vehicle's suspension, steering and drive-line components begin to wear, it can cause vibration, misalignment and premature tire wear. That's why the expert auto technicians at Rapid Transit Complete Auto Care perform a complete suspension system and steering inspection with each car alignment. When you have worn parts replaced, you're able to regain handling and steering control. Your car will run like its old self, returning to its original handling and operating performance. Wheel alignment is a critical aspect of car maintenance, as misalignment damages your tires and can lead to them wearing out prematurely. Rapid Transit Complete Auto Care technicians can make sure your steering and suspension are working as they should be and align your car to match the manufacturer's specifications.

  • Check Engine Light

All modern vehicles are equipped with an onboard computer diagnostic system (OBDII) that constantly monitors your vehicle's major operating systems and most importantly the power-train (engine and transmission). The main purpose of monitoring these systems is to insure that the vehicle is operating at top efficiency with the lowest possible emissions. As fuel economy and emission control has become increasingly important and complex, your vehicle's electronics systems need to constantly adjust and fine-tune various parameters according to driving conditions (such as vehicle load, temperature and air/fuel mix to name just a few). When the computer reads that any of these parameters do not fall within the acceptable range for operating the vehicle, your CHECK ENGINE LIGHT is lit to warn you that you may have a serious problem and to take your vehicle to a certified technician - such as your local Rapid Transit technician - to check the faults and restore it to manufacturer's specifications.

  • Differential and Axle

An axle connects the two wheels on opposite sides of the vehicle. The differential is gears and bearings either inside the transmission or the housing of the axle. Maintenance and Care: The differential lube level should be checked with every oil change. Some differentials require periodic cleaning and repacking of wheel bearings. If you drive an SUV or light truck, and especially if you pull a boat (meaning these components may get submerged in water), axle lube should be changed every year. Please refer to your owner's manual for factory recommended maintenance intervals for your specific vehicle. Rapid Transit center technicians are experts in differentials and axles. Differential problems should be checked out as soon as possible. Symptoms include clunking when you accelerate or shift between drive and reverse, or a high-pitched howling type of noise.
